Ive just obtained a 99 Vt accliam, and just wanted to know what is the main difference between the accliam and the exec besides the passanger air bags? Also when was the series 2 VT introduced?
The Acclaim has ABS and traction control. Mine also has cruise control but I don't know if that is standard in an Acclaim.
The Acclaim's Standard Equipment:
Same As for Executive, plus: Passenger's Airbag, ABS, 4 speed automatic transmission, cruise control (auto only), traction control.
1998 and onwards: adds Side Impact Airbags (SIAB).
Series II: adds Air Conditioning
Optional Equipment:
Air Conditioning (standard on Series II), Power windows, 17 inch alloy wheels.
(VT Series II: June 1999 - September 2000)

Well i must have a series 1 since my VT was built JAN 99 it has the extras such as Passenger's Airbag, ABS, cruise control, traction control and air conditioning, but as for the side impact airbags (SIAB) im not too sure about that, is there anyways of knowing that you have them installed just by looking or do i have to take the door linning off?
I'm not real sure but I think the side airbags are in the seats and not in the door.
there are stickers on the black panels on the side if they have side bags...but none made in early 99 - they came in series 2
There should be stickers that are located on the B pillar and inside the drivers door frame, indicating side airbags.
Side airbags are located in the sides of the seats.
