Bought some lovely VX Berlina seats to fit to my VXII Lumina. Never was comfortable in the standard seats. A quick look shows more wiring and plugs underneath on both seats than appears to be the case with the standard Lumina seats.
Do the Berlina seats come with a side airbag in them? Is the wiring loom there to plug them into?
Also. I've also got the rear seats - though they fit a sedan and I've got a wagon. It looks like the rear base will slot right in but I'll have to get the rest. The berlina wagon has headrest in the rear I think.
Any body wnat to buy some VX II Lumina seats?
The Berlina seats do have side airbags in them.
Unless your Lumina was equipped with side airbags i wouldn't think the wiring or airbag sensors would be there.
The Berlina wagon rear seat has head rests, as well as a centre seat fold down armrest (more like a fold down table).
I'm not sure if the sedan rear seat base will fit the wagon.
IMO put the front seats in and don't worry about the airbags.

you should probably check the laws about adding new airbags into your car. you may just have to keep them inactive to keep your car legal
1995 Manual HSV Clubsport
Wade Cam :: 9.2:1 CR :: Pacemaker headers :: Twin 2.5" Exhaust :: VT Brakes
1991 Supercharged VN Berlina
9 PSI SC14 Intercooled :: Genie headers :: Twin cats :: HM Twin 2.25 exhaust :: 3.45:1 LSD
I'd say you would need sensors, wiring looms and probably other items as well.
I'm told there is a bod control modul change as well. I guess what I need to know is whether it is possible to make these changes without going to enormous trouble eg. removing the dash to change wiring loom
I'm not sure but I think it may be the SRS Control Module that you will need, as the BCM doesn't control the airbags.
i would say put the seats in and dont worry about the side airbags bit...leave it disconnected.
too much trouble wiring up and changing or reprogramming modules, etc.....
and if the car wiring harness doesnt have the plugs hidden then you have to basically replicate the genuine wiring and unless you know a good auto electrician or can get hands on genuine wiring diagrams then its too much time, effort and $$$.
being a safety feature it might make the car not roadworthy if not done correctly.
VXIIwagdf your threads have been merged by the mods....
