Painting the dash but not all of it

i was thinking of painting the dash parts but not all of it as others have done

Was just going to paint the arrowed one in the pic in red same as the car colour


What does everyone think YES OR NO

I was not really keen on doing the whole dash bit too much red for me but doing a few parts of the dash should turn out o.k

I will do mine this arvo and will post some pics when im done

well i pulled all the dash apart this arvo and started to paint the parts got half way through it and ran out of paint so will finish the rest tomoz


All done and dry and put back together

looks good man i was thinkin bout doin the heater controls like u have but was gonnna use 2 colours a separate 1 4 the dash fascia aswell good job!!!!!

Will do picks soon i gotta get the little console that flips down tommorrow or thursday as it is broken and thought while its apart mite aswell do it then and there..

plus also gonna get some globes for the trac light and power plus the one in the mode and up down buttons a not working

Nah no clear coat on them just painted and let dry for a day or two

Already done mine about 3 months ago. Gloss black surround and metallic cyan in inserts looks GREAT!!!

You just mentioned the console flip down thingy being broken...
I think those are made to break... all my mates with vt's and vx's have theirs not workin...
like not opening when u push on it....
so annoying! grrr

They can replace the clip that causes the flip down console to not work. Pry the
door open, pull the pin out on the left hand side of the door, use a little force
to push and pull the right hand side out of the compartment, and put a new clip in.
$10-12 from Holden.

how did you paint the little stuff like the power window switch and the air conditioning controls without getting red paint over everything? do all the buttons etc come out?

The buttons come out and you can seperate the panelas and then just paint

Gotta get globes and the clip for the console on friday from holden so i will be putting it back together on sat after work so i will take some pics before i put it back together to show you how they come apart

May I aks you about the paint of Dash.
I can use car paint color to paint it Or special paint ti do it??

All i used was VHT (very high temp) paint in a can from repco and painted them the colour match is not perfect but its close enough for me

That looks really nice actually
