Sluggish engine turn over

My VT Calais (V6) has begun to turn over very slowly as if the battery is dying, however the auto elec says the battery is fine, which it should be as it's pretty new, and it's charging ok. He suggested leaving it with him for further analysis - that always rings cash registers to me. It starts ok but I'm getting increasingly nervous when starting it. Could the starter itself be drawing too much current and be at fault or anyone got any other ideas? Thanks in anticipation.

Thanks Accent, you're probably right. I might call the wreckers here in Bundoora. Their prices and parts are good.
