Replace/Repair Aircon condensor

Thought I'd put this here instead of the aircon forum as I guess itll get more viewing here.

Just had a bit of a woopsie and let the gas out of my aircon (actually its still going after 30 mins) Acidentally crunched a screwdriver into the top row of fins just enough to break one of them by the looks of it. One or two of the fins right at the very top.

Can they be re-welded or soldered back up or do I need a new one ? If so can anyone give me an approximate price or recommend somwhere in the SE Subs around the dandenong area. I'd guess and say radiator has to come out and obsiously needs to be regassed. Its on a VT 5L

I'd say a radiator repair place could fix it. Failing that there are some on ebay at reasonable prices, but that will mean a bit of a wait.

yeah i managed to find some old links to some on ebay that varied from $50 second hand to 200 brand new. Got a quote from a place just up the road of $230 for new condensor, or $530 all up with new condensor labour regas etc.

They said theyd have to see it to know if its repairable so going to hopefully get there tommorow morning. Fingers cross otherwise thats a nice expensive dopey accident
