You can tell by the taillights, there will be orange on the taillights for the indicators which is series 1.

Series 2 has the white taillight indicators/reverse lights!

I might be wrong, correct me if I am. But im pritty sure ;)

i know this is obvious, but it should have a series II badge (unless the boot has been resprayed or the badge removed by the prev. owner). From memory, Series II S packs came standard with power windows (series 1 didn't), Series two had double-spoked alloys as opposed to the series 1 single-spoked. Also series 2 VTs had the silver strip around the front grill while the series 1 VTs didn't (except the berlina, calais, etc)

Nothing :'(
73000kms is VERY low for a vt. Would fetch a pretty good price. Maybe 11-14,000. imo, Just don;t trade it in. Sell privately

my series 1 VT S has the electric windows and cruise control but again that could have been optioned up from factory. It does have the orange rear lights and used to have orange side indicators...

Mine was a June 99 build so it was pretty much the last of the series 1's

Kas699,

Does your VT have remote dead locking ???

Try this, leave a window open.

Lock the doors with the remote.......press lock again on remote.
You will hear all the four door locks go clunk.

Through the open window try unlocking the doors from the inside lock.
If they wont unlock its a VT Series-2.

You can only dead lock a Series-1 VT via the drivers external door lock.

You can also tell the Series-1 and Series-2 by the VIN numbers.
Don't have that info with me.

Cheers,
Muz
