Z monaro bonnet...

hey everyone

looking at getting a monaro bonnet for the vu wen i get back from malaysia ....just wondering where i can get one from.....seen them at savage fibreglass for $699 but would fireglass viod my insurance at all?

anywhere else that i could get one? perferably in wa....

From what I understand fibreglass bonnets are illegal, but I could be wrong.

yeh i wouldn't mind knowing that coz if their illegal the insurance company aint gunna like it...

From what i remember they are illegal. If you get pulled over by the coppers and they pop your bonnet ur gonna have problems and if ur in an accident probably same deal of problems.
Probably just ring your local road authority and ask...
If its legal by them (the VICROADS equivilant in NSW) than its fine with your insurance company...

carbon fibre is illegal, but fiberglass is dependant on how it is made. Here in SA we were told as long as its properly reinforced & retains original hinges & locks then its legal. We told them how it was made & they have said its okay. Will know for sure when he takes it to regency I guess?

Genuine are $1350 from www.nvu.com.au, it comes with everything you needs scoops, underflet, clips.

yeh thats unpainted though.....gunna end up being over $1600 by the time it gets over to wa and painted.

fibreglass equivalent would prolly be about $1000 i think. dont have enough money for genuine.

gothevu, whats urs is that fibreglass? how much was it?

AVE here in SA do them for around $600-$700 fibreglass for VN upwards & a one off VKC lol

Ryan mine fibreglass got it off ebay from fibremaster it was $500 plus postage, and $250 for paint

sweet yeh thats more in my price range...just gotta check legality now and maybe purchase wen i get back from hols.

fibre class bonnets are legal as long as it bolts up the same as a stock one and are doubled skined

ah ok...yeh i wouldn't have thought they were illegal coz the companies that make them wouldn't be selling any.
