i just took mine apart to have a look and the interior lights got a clip on the end that u just plug in to the roof, hopefuly the calais ones have got the same clip so you just have to plug it in and do the 2 screws in again.

I replaced mine with the Calais version (with the reading lamps) a while ago.
Its an easy job, straight replacement using the same mounting screws and wiring connector.

I did mine about a year ago in my 00vx. Justed unsrewed the old light, unplug it and put the new one in. Clips and srews are the same, rear courtesy lights i had to put my own loom in across the inside of the roof lining.

You will need to wire these rear lights off the middle interior light, so that they function properly with the on/off light switches and door switches.

i put my interior light in, but it dont work properly, when i put one of the reading lights on, it makes the middle light come on too but really dull, & when i put both on at the same time, neither work , but the center light comes on full, also the map lights dont work when the door is open

I recently bought one on ebay and it is the same as you describe. I thought there was a problem with it. I checked the wiring diagram for the interior light of an executive and a calais and they appeared to be the same, but there must be some thing different. I have a newer car now which already has those interior lights, I'll pull it apart tomorrow and see what's different.

I thought it was a straight swap too, especially since the plug is the same. I bought it off someone called mandyd6415.

Here is a pic of the plug on the interior light with the map lights factory fitted. Unfortunately I don't have my VT with the standard light anymore to compare it to.
