    Default Which petrol is best?

i jus got a Vt supercharged V6 and wanting to know if its worth putting the extra money to get Shell V - Power racing (100 octane) or just stick to V - power (98 octane)? Maybe another brand all together is better so if any of uz could give me sum tips from ur own experience with superchargd Vt that would be mad thanx

Dont use shell, it is probably the worse of the high octanes. Go for BP ultimate or Synergy 8000 mobil

BP Ultimate would be the way to go for high performance machines. Anything else would be 2nd best. Plus, especially with the 98, you'll get better mileage from it. True, it probably costs more but you get what you pay for if you know what i mean.

Take for example my car. It's only a VT V6. I was originally using a mix of Caltex and Shell fuels. I got bugger all mileage out of of full tanks of this crap. Something like 380-400kms per tank from empty.

I decided to drain the oil tank dry and run BP Unleaded. Straight away, the first tank gave me 420km. Then the consequent tanks gave me 450 and 460km. I can't imagine what Ultimate 98 would have given me. From this, i can suffice that BP fuel is of far superior quality then it's competitors.

i'd have to say my car runs great on ultimate, haven't tried the others though! U may need to get your car tuned if it doesn't run well on 98 after a couple of full tanks, i've heard of cases of oxygen sensors or something needing to be replaced ..

I've been running BP Ultimate in my super 6 for around two months and the computer keeps telling me im going to get more k's each time. I really think it is worth the extra.

You have to use the higher octane or the Computer knocks back power in your sc6, But as you are only listing higher octane fuels I judge ou already know that.

I haven't tried out the newer shell, yet so can't comment on it.

The following link explains how the engine management system and choice of fuels has a dramatic effect on power.

I'm a BP nut too... ran the 95 in my old s/c calais (back when it was $1.40 a litre for 95, so ultimate was just too expensive) and it loved it, if you want to run 98 I'd highly recommend BP still.... i still run BP 91 in my subie and it poos on other brands of petrol.

BP Ultimate is the best, even compared to V-Power. I can actually notice the car running much better with this fuel, with others I can't tell the difference.

BP Ultimate Rocks even for a stock VT like mine you can feel the difference so with a S/C it would boogy.
