    Default Traction control button

i have a series 2 vt supercharged s pack and i have tractionn control. i have a button for it but when you press it the button does nothing. so traction control is always on. could of been a setup the other guy b4 me had on the car but i want to know how to turn it off if my button doesnt work??

also does the stock vt supercharged have any chance against a stock vt 5.0L?

just pull the abs/trac fuse out under the bonnet, be aware that you then lose ABS

Or check if you need a new switch

but i dont want to lose my ABS surely a switch cannot be there and you can press it but it does nothing to help turn T/C off. what could be wrong with my button?

does a light illuminate on the dash to say "trac off" ? cause on my acclaim that light illuminates when i push the button but i dont really notice a difference in the car, also having driven a few super6 vt's because i was going to buy one but ended up getting a 5.0L stato i dont like its chances of beeing able to take on a 5.0L vt but for arguments sake and a bit of fun you could always try we both might be surprised

the traction control is on because ive tried spinning the wheels and the light flashes and i try to turn it of and my button goes down and up and you try spinning the wheels again and its still on. is there a light that indicates if traction control is off?

the light comes up constantly when trac is off on the dash cluster. It may just need a new switch...your car is over 6 years old, these things do start to fail

those switches are prone to dust, bikkie crumbs, coffee drips, soft drink etc its probably the switch.

Take the trac/abs fuse out try spin the wheels then if the light doesnt start flashing then u can narrow it down 2 the button like every1 has suggested u may b able 2 do a test swapping ur power button over they will have reversed pins but just turn the button around (so the writings upside down) just while u do the test should b right

If you can't do it yourself then that would be your best bet. Probably cheaper then taking it to Holden.

Do you have a pwr button as well? If so, swap the 2 buttons over if your keen to pull the console to bits, and check if the trac off light comes on or the power light comes on, that way you know whether its the switch or not.
