    Unhappy Broken Wheel Studs

Hey guys, I was working for a local florist today (delivering floweres and such) and somehow managed to break 2 wheel studs off in the nuts.

It started out as a slight knocking noise, which at the time I thought was a bearing. However as time passed it got worse. I suspected loose wheel nuts, got out and check them only to find one nut with half the stud still in it and another missing completely.

Has anyone else had this happen or am I a lucky one?

I may have gone a little overboard last time I tightened them, not to the point of standing on the wheel brace but I did get them as tight as possible with the push/pull action....

Rear Passenger's. When I got to the Tyre Joint my Uncle told me to run around and cheack all wheel nuts were tight. I found I could get 1/2 to 1 full turn out of every nut on the Rear Drivers.

He thought someone may have tried to steal my wheels but I don't see how when even his Boss said "They would need the same key and we can't get the key in without ordering the wheels"

I recon someone might have tried to pinch em too...
If when you say "the key" you mean the lock nut then, well, here's the sad truth... A lock nut adds about a minute per wheel to get off if the theif knows what to do...

Neways, hope it all goes well getting it fixed up

Yeah. $55 and it was good as new. These nuts aren't a lock nut as such, the way my uncle explained them to me was they're a manufacturer specific wheel nut. Meaning they're the only nut that will fit those wheels.

I know if you hit the locknuts with a hammer hard enough they will come off but I haven't heard any suspicious sounds at night and its parked under my window so yeah.
