    Default WH Stato v6

    Howdy all,
Considering options for the move back to the wonderful (sometimes ) world of commodores and their brethren.

VS 5L Stato has been crossed off the list, too thirsty, and besides for not much more you can move up into the world of WH'es. GENIII is a bit too big and expensive (in terms of initial cost) so the v6 it is.

There don't seem to be heaps around me, but I was wondering if anyone has any particulars they would like to share on these, I realise it's not going to be a rocket at 1.7t + passengers, with a 150-odd Kw donk, but it's going to be better than what I have now lol (about 100Kg in it's favour for power:weight, plus the power is at lower revs).

Fuel economy, any cool or not cool features, and problems? And WTF is auto-leveling suspension lol.

    All help appreciated.

make sure it is supercharged if your going v6 auto leveling suspension is air shocks at the rear so when passengers or the boot is loaded the camber doesnt increase and the comfort level is still good

Lol nah standard 6 i think this time round... even being the barge it is, it'll be quicker than what I have now.. Initial outlay for super6 or 5.7 is a bit more than I'm wanting to spend anyway, maybe next time 'round

and ta on the leveling thingo... had no idea lol

Mmm just looking at what I can get for my money lol.

Prob '99/'00 build, hopefully <150K... looove the dark blue! Interior, just whatever the right car comes with, doesn't make or break a sale for me, plenty of things more important than that.

I was also curious about the level ride thing. I just bought a series 2 WH Caprice and I'm not sure if they came out with Auto Levelling Suspension or not. It's has a space for the relay marked " level ride " but there is no relay in it, so I'm not sure if someone knocked off they relay or it is an option. I guess I'll get under the car and see what's doing.

I had a look under neath the car and they look like standard shocks, so no level ride. I did notice the 2 extra components on the rear suspension that my VT didn't have, 2 long adjustable rods.

Nice WH. I've got a '00 V6 myself. The WH handles like a barge! haha But it's a great car. Does it have leather guts?

Only cloth... for the price I paid though not unhappy.

$15K with 140K on it... couple of mark on the boot and the paint on the plastic strips that run along the roof is nothing special, but nothing a good detailer can't fix.

Looking around, it's hard to get anything under $18K.

And yeah not great handling lol but not too bad, few things to get used to coming from the lib but that thing was about to turn into a huge money pit so happy to move it on.

Good buy there Matty. The boss at work has one but an International with an 8. Have driven it a few times and the thing still handles like a barge though.

Lol yeah well it is a barge so no surprise But other circumstances (all positive) mean I'm after a bigger car and comfort now comes before handling/performance.

Might make it out to some of the cruises with some tagalongs.... but more likely the slower paced ones

i'll be looking at making mine handle a bit better..you'd have to disable the self levelling suspension if I gets lowered I guess. I think they sit way too high in the arse!

For general city driving, the Gen3 stato gets better fuel economy than then v6. It's highway driving where the v6 is better. The WH is too fat for a v6, get an 8!

EDIT: I probably should have read the thread before posting! Nice buy anyway. Very clean example for that price!

Can I ask what sort of kms you get to the tank. I recently bought a car similar to yours and I'm getting around 500 (city mainly, taking it easy) and I would like to know if this normal.
