Hey everybody, every time it rains or i give my car a wash, there always seems to be water going into the boot holes. Ive included some pics because my explanation is poor.
Does anybody else get this problem?
Water comes out from the far and front holes..
Can you see anything wrong...
Anyway hopefully it isn't suppose to leak like that...
Peace guys!![]()

Pull the wing off, the little rubber gaskets may be cracked. You might have to put a small dob of silicone in each hole.
Leaking boot....what the??? Just a normal thing for a commodore mate.

its also been said by holden that the rear garnish is the cause. I have no wing yet mine leaks as yours does. Theres some rubber strip in there that has perished and needs to be replaced but yeah its a factory leak.

My old VT S1 wagon had a slight leak in the boot door, i traced it to the factory spoiler rubber grommits having perished.
Bah you cant be serious....

I read somewhere that its not a leak but thats just the way the water drains off the boot lid? Bad design. I haven't given it that close of a look but mine does the same thing.

Boot leaks is the one of the characteristics of a typical commodore. Its a Holden!!
When i go into holden what exactly to i ask for?
The rubber for the boot garnish and spoiler?
Do you think there are any quick fix options atm?

the best way to fix this problem is to put a piece o string, like the kind for starting a lawn mower under the rear seal
I cant belive everyone says boot leaks are so common? I've never had an issue with my VT - except after washing and you open the boot and get a face full of water from the bottom lip of the lid that you didnt shammy :P
not actually leaking is it, just when you open it it drips into the boot from that bottom part of the garnish? if you leave it shut for a day you get nothing...?
