Holden By Design SS

I have recently purchased a VT SS series 1 5L, Under the bonet there is a holden by design badge and on the back of the car there is a 195i badge on it, from my understanding the ss series 1s came with a 185 motor not the clubsport version.

Can someone please shed some light on what i have, has it got an upgrade or is it a clubby motor????

you could have the 195i motor optioned into the SS... very wise upgrade

Yeh it'd be for the 195i engine... pretty sure it's the same as the clubby etc. In the VS's they did the same thing (could option the HSV 5L engine) except they tagged it as "HSV Enhanced" not HBD.

its wierd its got the hbd badge under the hood, and the 195i badge on the back so i don't know if it is or someone is playing games

the HBD badge has a range of numbers on it is there a site that could tell me what these numbers mean ??

What letters do you have? Maybe you can work it out based on the letters.

don't let the 195i badges fool you, i have that badge on mine but i'm sure mines not the 195i version. The 195i should have the 195i engine covers and apparently the V.I.N letter sybolising V8 is different to the normal 5L's which is M
