    Default suspension

After a $14 pedders safety check ive got a report stating that ive got about $900 worth of work needed

    the list atm is
    - front shocks have about 6 months worth of life left in them- very boarderline
    - rear shocks have had it and need replacing
    - passenger front linkpin is bent and needs replacing(due to broken bushes)
    - most of the bushes need replacing on the front, didnt mention anything about the rear ones
    - trampo irs correction kit (camber kit?)

now he didnt say anything was wrong with the springs, BUT in the coming months im considering lowering the car 2"(ssl?) all round and getting some 19" rims. As for the lowering i know it would look totally better lowering+rims at the same time so i can get the perfect height with the rims ect. but i dont have a spare $1500 for rims atm. so if i settle for just getting the suspension right for the time being, how much alone would the parts cost(not including the bushes/camber kit, so shocks/springs?), and would that be all enough if i supply the main things needed for lowering the car? Also the shocks have to match the height the springs sit at because it can cause problems later correct?

As for the current prices he has given me an inbetween sports and comfort shockers for the front ($372) and the rear shocks ($166) and the irs kit at ($300). totalling $930 all up, or $714 just to do the front.

now that u know what needs to be done go somewhere else!! lol!
front shocks should cost u like 200 max, rears about 130 and thats monroe gt gas shocks.
You will need a camber kit post lowering but get a 4 point.
    Pedders are really expensive generally
    Good luck

How can they tell how long is left in a set of shocks? They are either buggered or they are not. Those prices they gave you would be the pair not each. I supply fronts over here for $95 each and rears $75 each. Springs are $125 for fronts and $147 for rears. $160 for a four way rear adjustment kit. $37 for a link pin kit, new pins and bushes. It is recommended to use shorter rear shocks to trap the springs, fronts don't matter. Just don't use Monroe Sensatrac because they have two stage valving and it doesn't work when the car is lowered.

ahh well i guess the next question is, where can i get the cheapest parts sold seperatly, whether it be over the counter ect. or a workshop who will either let me supply the majority of the parts, or give me a decent price for them to supply

Ok, for Sep/Oct (but I've started already), I'm doing 15% off my already stupid KYB pricing...

If you do end up going lowered springs, then KYB shocks to suit would set ya back $115 each for the fronts, and $57 each for the rears... Every second person can supply King Springs at a reasonable price, but if you're after one I can grab one too...

I just got all my bushes changed in the front changed at Pedders and it cost me $850 odd. They were so stuffed it had to be held overnight!!! HAHAHA. I am such a prick to my car.

Not only the bushes were stuffed. There was some part in the front strut towers with bearings in it -- totally f'd. Also the wheel alignment was performed.

I drove around with the screwed bushes for so long I forgot how good it felt to have a solid suspension with A+ alignment!
