Projector Headlights for VX

Hey,
Just wondering if anyone has some pictures of their commodore with the chrome altezza headlights fitted? I searched the forums for some but the actual pictures don't seem to work.
Also what do you reckon would look better on a silver VX that has a calais garnish already fitted - the black or chrome headlights?

pics of altezza headlights... look at any v2 monaro, the headlights are just monaro replicas. don't concern yourself with what we think looks better, it's your car and your money

BUT

personally... having a silver car myself i was toying with the altezza headlight idea and was more keen on the chrome rather than black...

On account of my car having subtle cosmetic mods that all blend into the car so i would want a similar effect with the headlights...

Keep in mind that 99% of the Monaro copies arn't projectors but rather standard reflectors.

I just can't make up my mind! haven't seen any vx commodores on the road with the chrome projectors fitted. As Jesterarts said, i reckon the chrome ones would blend in better, but i would like to see what they look like fitted.
Does anyone know if they improve light quality?

The Altezzas ARE Projector low beam and reflector High Beam. The Light output is better for low beam but worse for High beam, as the Altezzas use H1 globes for both. I ended up spending an extra $500 updating them to HID and now the high beam is better than the work ute with lightforce spotties

Thanks Spitfire, big help! the chrome ones don't look to bad actually. I will look into the HID conversion kit. Have you had any problems with temperature since installing the HID kit?

Temperatures are around the same. They are actually supposed to be less i think but they felt just as warm to me. HID outputs 3-4x than normal filament globes but only uses 35w.

im not being rude. (no im not) but where have you seen monaro copies that are not projector?

on the other hand i have black altezzas with narva +50's for both low and high with some big spotties with a range of over 800m the projector lights are much better than standard halogen.

My opinion is:It will cheapen the look of your car,I see these light's on a daily basis front/rear altezza light's on all makes and models.
That is my overall impression of those light's-it looks cheap.

i think they only look cheap coz they r different and not genuine like the 1st couple posts said its ur car do it if ur happy with it, my opinion i hate chrome with a passion but they will look better on silver chrome. holden never made chrome projector lights 4 these models so if u want the chrome look u kinda go no choice but 2 go after market cheap look or not.

Series 2 WH statesman international had the projector lights exactly the same as the monaro ones but in chrome. So yes there are genuine chrome ones.

As far as the cheap look is concerned,I am sure you are more than familiar with it.
My aim is to try and convince the poster to not de-value the car and waste money on cosmetic rubbish from china.
To finish though,I cannot take away from the good work you have done to your car.

Dont worry! i hate that cheap look too, thats why i decided to go for the calais rear garnish. I was thinking the chrome ones because they look more standard than the black ones

Everyone i know that has done the HID Conversion has purchased the kits from here:

LOL...... those spot lights on the front look huge.

lol there not as big as they look. they are 180mm (8") round, i do alot of night driving/country (you can see the bugs/stone chips in one of the pics) and even with upgraded globes standard high beam were fine for city driving but when you in the middle of FA on a long straight i now have 800m of daylight , they are also good for them people who dont know when to dip their lights

Well then it makes sence to have those bohemith size lamps on the front of your VT.
