Hey I have a VX commodore with 18" wheels and brand new tyers bought today, and i noticed the car isnt as quick as what it was with the 15's
Also it feels heavier on the road....... is there any reason for this?
The wheels have been balanced and its had a wheel alignment
was it just with the new tyres or did u just put the 18's on today aswell, check the tyre pressure is set correctly.
yeah they are brand new wheels and tyers, and the psi is on 38, correct psi for the rim
how much power r we talkin here? heaps or only a lil bit? unless ur loosing traction on **** tyres i doubt ud b loosing power mayb u just think it has coz the car does handle differently goin from 15's to 18's

more tyre on the road = a bit heavier to turn as theres more tyre to move, 18" mags are generally heavier than a 15" steelie, and have a greater rotating mass or something, so takes a bit more work for the motor to get them moving. you havent lost power, just a bit ofacceleration
yeah the car feels alot different on the road, thats for sure, and yeah the power loss is from when i accelerate, its not alot, the car just feels abit heaver to move
Yeah don't worry, I noticed the same. You have more rubber and more wheel to spin. You should also find it harder to break traction around corners.
But if you have a stock Commo, get some lowered springs into ya and corners will feel totally different..
How about a set of FE2 suspension?
yeh exactly 18's= bigger rolling surface area hence more tire to go round
15's= equal less surface area and hence spin faster but yeh shouldnt be a great deal of diff
for springs get a set of lovells superlows or sumthing similar all round and you'll be laughing handling wise
cheers
