hey guys i have a vx berlina v6 ecotec and looking at buying the vxss CAI and was wondering the guys 0ut there that do have the induction is it easy to install and have u seen a little bit of a performance change?

SS Inductions have also been known through the car scene as SS Re-Ductions... a test was done on one web site and it was actually proven that they cause soem vehicles to lose power...
" Behold the turtle. He makes progress only when he sticks his neck out "
V6's are fine with them, I wouldn't put one on a gen3 though.
$350 pp if you are interested.
overpriced IMO
"... a test was done on a site of my cousins uncles 3 legged dogs keeper and it said..."
Link to the site and be specific as to what sort of engine it was fitted to...
I know i got gains in throttle response from my and abit of power with a K&N filter too...
Probably slightly over priced but SO easy to install!
There are other options that area cheaper "Euger" or something and you could probably mod that abit to give the same flows @ an SS Inductions one.
Good Luck
Aunger. The opening that sits on top of the radiator isn't as large as the SS one.
^^^ Thats the one... but as i said u could mod that up fairly easy...
TO those have the scoop that bolts onto the aircon radiator to kick up air from the grill vents?
No, they are similar to the SS kit, basically just a bigger intake into the air box and an OTR CAI. The Aunger one has smaller ducting and a smaller inlet and looks squarer and more retro than the SS one. Regarding the grille vents, thats what I am doing to my VS, but I have to cut the holes out of the top of the bumper.
i got the SS induction kit, and i was very happy with it mate, i notice throttle response was alot better and you can notice a bit more power with it aswell, it also uses less fuel with it, i havent changed my filter yet to a K & N panel either, it just got the stock one atm, so yeah if anything it'll probably pay it self off with less fuel consumtion, in the long run that is
^^^ Good point about fuel consumption... i noticed i got a couple more k's outta a tank after the kit...
Though i think u need an exhaust to balance the system out properly
Hey dont get a K&N filter when you can buy a FRAM AIRHOG FILTER they are much cheaper ..
sweet az guys i really appreciate the feedback on the help and information... now the next question where did you buy ur CAI from..? direct from holden or somewhere else..?
again thanks guys
I got mine off ebay... you can make some good savings there...
BURSONS is me personal recommendation... i've have good dealings with them
VX V6 SS Inductions kit is $350 plus postage. VY V6 is $395.
A hi flow filter is really only beneficial because you can clean it, and in the long run, saves you money by not having to buy a replacement all the time. It can give better economy on the highway, but to be honest, I haven't noticed any power increases from fitting mine.
lol a fram airhog? ur an idiot, they are terrible and not that much cheaper than kn, but if ur looking for performance, get a bmc
BMC are the other end of the scale. Good filter but very expensive for what you get. On an N/A car, the stock paper filter flows enough for what the engine needs. A high flow will gain a bit of economy at cruising speeds but thats about it. If you race the car then it will give you a bit extra. I use a Finer Filter foam filter on mine, only because I'm too tight to spend the money on an air filter when I can just clean mine. I was working in an ARB agency at the time, so it was cheap, lol. Don't get me wrong, I will spend money if I can see the value, and I don't buy the cheapest crap on the market in anything, but with my car....well...I'm of the opinion that it's just a car...for now. Down the track it might be a strip car, haven't decided yet.
i got an ss inductions kit and a K&N filter made a difference. the fuel econ. increased
Thats what he was saying, the economy increased, which is got better. Fuel use went down.
Good to know it made such a difference on the VY.
