I have a set of H4 Xenox HID (HI/LO) installed in my standard VT headlights working good but it dose put the single hight beam Heli's to shame (Pi$$ yellow)
So I got a set of H1 Xenox HID single beam and installed them but was having alot of problem getting the light to work proply. As soon as I plugged them in the H1 were going without the lights switch being on.
Anyway I have search the net for someone that has done this to VT standard light and the only ones I can find have only installed HID's to the Low beam lights...
But I found a pro installer that gave me the answers
All you have to do is install the Xenox HID H4's as normal
Install the Xenox HID H1"s as normal... BUT The Ballasts has to be insulate from the chassis (if you don't the lights will be on all the time, even with the light switch off and the key removed.)
Hope this helps someone from getting the pain in the a$$ of working it out
Heres a pic of My one finally working

Don't mean to be an ass or anything but HID kits should never be used with halogen reflector headlights. You can see the glare coming from your headlights and that picture was taken during the day, imagine the glare at night.
I've posted this pic before. Even at night, proper HID projectors produce no glare.
Edit:
OOPS! the headlights would of been on high beams hey? lol my bad. That would explain the extra glare.
Post some cutoff line shots when you get the chance =]
I installed a H4 8000k xenon kit on my VS. Was just wondering if you guys would know of i can change my head light assemblies so i can eradicate the glare and beam scatter problems im having? (N.B. i still have halogen headlight assemblies)
Hit me up with some reputation points if i've helped you out! (Star in the bottom left!) Cheers!

Do you mean you wont to change the whole light to a projectors or something or just Modify the ones in it now
Have you got the H4's with the steel cover over the bulb like this
Or this

Either method mate.. can i buy complete projector assembles to suit HIDs? or can i mod the originals? thats wat im unsure about..
Ive got the ones on the bottom
Sorry to hijack mate, feel free to kick me off![]()

I don't know of any mods for your lights
I have the the H4 like the top ones the scattering problem isn't to bad with my'n
You should be able to get some projector for yours BUT they take H1's in the low and the high beams, So your H4 will be wasted but you should be able to just buy the bulbs to replace them
The only problem i can see with a vs is that the headlight doesn't have a clear lense. Just say you spend the extra money to get HID projectors to do a retrofit so you get no glare and a nice cutoff line, the lense will still spread the light creating glare. If there was an aftermarket set of headlights with a clear lense then you wouldn't have a problem
There are aftermarket VS headlights with clear lenses... Mine are made by Depo.. Motoquipe etc. sell them along with ebay.
I've just installed Bi-xenon H4's on my VR and thinking of converting the single high beams as you did....wondering if you know what the reason is for having to insulate the second set of ballasts ???? and how did you do that.
It could of been because it was a different brand of HID lights But the installer I spoke to installs a totally different brand to the ones I put in, So its got me stuff why(commodores have the wiring + - backwoods for headlights) The headlights have power + all the time and when you use the light switch it earths - the circuit so the light come on. The ballasts must earth - out on the body of the car
I wanted to insulate the ballasts with some heat shrink But I couldn't get any that size in this town (you need the 80mm Dia heatshrink) So I just got some good elec/tape to insulate the ballast, covered the ballasts 2-3 time and put it in the mount and put some tape around that so the ballast can not move (so it dosn't ware the tape out)
That will do untill I can get some heatshrink or something better![]()
or if you want another fix, try isolating the power to the H1's by installing a relay in the power circuit, that is controlled by the earth switching wire for the high beam lights, then you wouldnt need to insulate your balast, and you would have a more reiable earth for the high voltages those things induce
Not sure if I'm i the right place but here goes'.
Does anyone know if there is there is a projector headlight that can be fitted to a WK Caprice that lifts the horizontal line, when switched to high beam.
I currently have projector headlights and normal reflector driving lights with HID Xenon kits installed on both.
The problem is that when I switch to high beam, it takes a little while for the driving lights to brighten up and as the projectors don't have high beam, there is no extra light coming from them.
If any one knows of a projector light that can be fitted/modified so the horizontal line dissapears, when the high beams are on, I would very much like to hear about it.
This would give instant increase in lighting untol the driving lights brighten up.
