Default Speedo out by ALOT!!! since GB Chagne

    ok, changed me gearbox

i got a 99 VT with 5sp GETRAG, it broke, i got a new one, from a VX, unknown model sorry

when it came, the VSS was missing so i installed the VSS from my box onto it
now, i had it adjusted down with feelers gauges, and well speedo is way out, very weird reading, will not go above 40kmh

and when ya doing like 80 it reads like 35ish or so

now there is a Speed Sensor Toothed ring on the shaft in which the sensor reads, is it at all possible that this one could have more or less teeth on it, the one on me old box i count had 40 teeth on it, maybe the vx one is different esp if they ran different diff gears

Hey bud is there a speedo cable that goes into the gearbox?? I'm just thinking of my old commodore, if so you just might need to change the gear knob not sure of the correct name of gear thats in the gearbox, if I remembered correctly they come in couple of different colours find out what colour your gear should be, then change it. I had the same problem along time ago found out I had a white gear for the speedo which should have been blue.
    cheers

yeah, you may need to get a different speed senosor due to the gears inside the box may have different teeth,

best thing to do would go see holden and see what other sensors they have listed for them, vx maybe totally different.

just as long as its not a vy box, as vy they might have changed cos of the different clusters and stuff.

the only thing i can suggest, is changing the ratio gear. dunno if this will help as this varies from car to car.
