Hey,

Just started my car up after it sitting there for awhile... gave it a rev n steam was pouring from under the bonnet!

Had a look and the plastic elbow where the heater valve is has cracked and is leaking...

How much in terms of parts?

Easiest way to make this a non messy job?

And how do i refill the coolant??

ANy help would be fantastic!!!

Thanks guys

Heater taps are pretty cheap, $20-$30. Just undo all the hoses on the tap, you will lose some coolant but that's unavoidable. Refill radiator when finished and bleed the system.

Repco might have them but I bought mine from Holden.
To bleed the system, run the engine to normal operating temperature and then unscrew the bleeding screw on the thermostat housing slightly until only coolant comes out, no air. You may need to do it a few times. Be careful not to burn yourself.
