is the aircon on when it holds revs?
otherwise i'd recommend a ecu reset, just turn the key on and dont touch the accelerator or anything, let it idle for 10 or 20 seconds, turn it off then on again and take it for a run. other wise unhook the battery for a good few minutes then do what i said...sometimes when ive disconnected my battery my vx manual has run like a dog till i reset it.
Need some parts for my VH 253:
Green standard steering wheel...Green lower B-pillar covers.
Green sunglasses holder/lower dash bits...Air-con and assorted engine bay parts.
PM with any info.
its probably best to check the diagnostic codes, this will give you an indication where the problem is.

I also have a VX2 manual with this problem. It is not too bad changing from 1st to 2nd but the revs increase slightly between 2nd to 3rd to 4th. No problems changing down though.
Has it got something to do with the gear you are in?
Has anybody solved this problem?
When you say it holds the revs do you mean that when you accelerate it revs thru the roof and then kicks in?? I'm a lil confussled... lol
When you take your foot off the accelerator and push the clutch in to change, say, from 3rd to 4th, the revs accually increase by about 300rpm. If you change slowly and hold the clutch in the revs slowly drop.
