Default Fuel gauge stuffed? or engine just drinking fuel?

Hey guys lately I have noticed a big drop in economy or my fuel gauge is giving me problems? I just put $30 premium fuel in, it gave me 20litres in the tank. I got about 80kms before redlight(40ks)

I have only noticed this lately, and this is with granny driving trying to get more k's out of the tank.

in my experiences if u want to conserve fuel drive normally, get up to 3rd/od asap rather than riding 1st/2nd.

i know with the VX II, some built within a certain timeframe had noted faulty fuel senders. but you probably just parked on a hill lol

this may sound stupid but i had the same thing it was 2 things

1 the trip showing how many L of fuel used was wrong had to adjust by putting a full tank in to the first click then next time you top up remember how many you put back in then turn car on to red while holding mode butten for about 5 seconds then tap mode till you see fuel used then use set to udjust close as posible

2the hand brake was adjusted wrong after a service one side was holding other was off so it was draging useing more fuel.

A faulty oxygen sensor will sometimes result in high fuel consumption

It might be worth doing a computer fault code check to see if anything comes up that may cause the car to drink fuel.

Yeah I have no codes, I filled up $20 last night while cruising with mates I didnt record it. But I was on half a quarter before filling up $20 that got me a bit over quarter my mate with a vtss super 6. Put 15 in and got half, off quarter.

Didnt flaw it, Though my handbrake is VERY VERY loose could that be a problem? I also have a 70mm throttlebody though ive had it in for over 4-5months now and ive only really noticed it lately.

Need this sorted as it is really annoying.

I think its a bit pointless trying to double guess if the fuel gauge is working correctly based on "I put $20 in it and the gauge dropped quickly" etc.

Fill the tank, drive it 200km and refill. Work out your consumption from this, the more times you do it, the more accurate reading you'll get of your average fuel consumption.

Wen was the last time u serviced the car? if its ur gauge it may just need re-calibrating but defintaly fill right up and do ur fuel consumption n work out how much ur actually using, try resetting ur ECU and go from there
