If its loosing power, could be your alternator mate?
Hey all,
My VT Calais decided on NYE in the hot weather that it would stall as I left work then lose all the electronics and not start again.
Can short it out and get it to turn over, but when you put the key to on, all the dash lights come on and air con etc all works but fuel pump does not prime and windows, electronic aerial etc do not work, the red imobiliser light does not flash, disconnected battery for a while and reconected, still nothing.
Left overnight, came back with second key to eliminate that, remote entry locked and then unlocked, started car ok but died after 2 seconds and now back how it was.
Any help would be great

It doesnt lose all power as such just cuts out, all dash lights & air con still working

if you lock & unlock the car does it crank, start for a second then stall again?
then not crank until you cycle the locks again?

Keys do not work at all, no imob lights flash, just dead with the electronics, but dash lights etc still light up.
Had battery disconected for 12 hours and reconnected and still the same...
Thinking off to the mechanics today!
I got the key to work twice today but as soon as I turned it to on it all stopped again, and then reset itself.

Day before new years eve my sister drove my car and the alternator died... after a few minutes I had a dead flat car.
When it was back at my sisters house, I went around to see what was / wasnt working etc. (didnt know it was the alternator at that point)
When I walked up to the car the key unlocked the doors and disabled the alarm.
I wound up the power windows (she had them down) it worked fine
I put my key in and turned it to on, dash lit up, climate control woke up, same with stereo
and every.... 5 - 10 seconds the dash would blink, make a beep, and go back to what it was on. When I turned climate control off, it wouldnt do it.
It seemed there was so little power in my car, that the computer / dash couldnt stay on, and would reset.
Also, the immoboliser wasnt there either, no red light. yet when I jump started it, it started fine. although in limp home mode, the car went fine.
Have you checked if the battery has charge?
Also, Ive heard of someone who could start their car for a second or 2, then it would die... and I remember it was to do with their PCM (engine computer)

Hey all,
Sent the car off on the Tow truck the other day, ended up being a corroded wire to Main fuse Panel at Top RH Strutt through Main Wiring Harness....
****load of Labour and $3.20 worth of parts and we are back in business!!

bet thats whats wrong with my stupid car, i just cant be stuffed finding the wire thats rooted.
checked everything else though, gonna head to holden on tuesday cos i need pink slip and a power window checked and the condenser blown out...i'm just over the car at this point...
Need some parts for my VH 253:
Green standard steering wheel...Green lower B-pillar covers.
Green sunglasses holder/lower dash bits...Air-con and assorted engine bay parts.
