my friends blew up a few weeks ago, mass hole in the block, that was in a vx, the mechanic that rewplaced the engine said it wasnt looked after very well by the first owner (thrashed), they found metal shavings in the sump on a previous service before the motor failed.
Mate I'ved had mine had for mine for over 12 months and haven't had any dramas with it my machanic told me it in perfect condition. Like most second hand cars there are good ones and bad ones its just pot luck.
As long as you run them on good fuel (98 octane) they take a floging, mine gets driven hard quite often and it always comes back 4 more, Been through 2 stets of rears, raced at drags, and two track days in last month

had mine since 30 000 and now had 90 000 on it. It cops a flogging nearly every day. I service it my self and use the good mobil 1 oil. never missed a beat no noise what so ever not even on cold startup. they run much smoother than the normal v6 but use a bit more fuel but ofcourse they go abit harder 2.
I have had mine for 4 years and floor it all the time, redline changes and high speed runs on the quarter with all the bolt ons and no probs. Just change the oil more often if you want cheap insurance, the ECU will take care of the rest, it saves the motor usually from big damage.
what sort of fuel ecconomy are you guys getting because ive been told mixed things about the supercharged motors ppl have told me they chew more fuel then 8s but others say they are really good
