Question shift point remapping???

im looking into putting 3.9 diff gears in my auto vt ecotec. The question is... how much would i be looking at spending to get the shift points remapped because i've been told the diff gears send your shift points out of wack on an auto... Yeah so how much and where is it done. OR is it even neccessary to have them remapped (can i just deal with it)

any help needed. thanks

if the ppk in the dash is set to suit the new gears & wheel size the shift points will be pretty close but its easy enough to set them up to suit your requirements

jet_pilot, the VP has a full hydraulic transmission, the shift points can only be altered by mechanical modifications in the transmission.

DND the shift points in the VT are controlled by the PCM, thet are dependant on road speed & TPS.

tighten the cable & it will hold the gears longer & shift harder.

what do you mean by a pain to drive gently? does it try to stall at low rpm? looses low down power unless giving it a boot?
