Wouldnt have a clue about a stallie, but as for diff gears.
Ive heard 3.9s are great for the autos, but if ur a bit concerned about revving too high, go for 3.7's, morton just put 3.7s in his auto vp, and he couldnt be happier!
Also should add, price will depend on what you are doing.
Do you want LSD? Or just keep a single pegger and just do a straight swap of the gears?
If its just a straight swap, should cost you about $500 ish... although 3.7s are hard to come by they might charge you a bit more for the gears.
If you want LSD your looking at about a grand or more

in regards to the stallie, have you done any work to the engine at all? the purpose of a stallie is to get the rpm into that sweet spot usually when a bigger duration cam is installed as it makes the off throttle low end really choppy.
on a stock engine it'll just cut out some of your lower rpm range, which might actually be a bad thing...
in any case, have a talk to any places that stock/build stallies and get them to work out what sort you need. they take all your engine and diff details and work out what stall point would suit your car. one manufacturer i have used and can recommend is red diamond stall converters. i got a relatively low stalled converter (went for a recommended 2600-2800rpm stallie so i didnt stall up onto too much boost during gear changes) which cost me about $350 or so made to order.
