Default idel problem

my vx ss idels at between 800-1500 rpm depending on its mood with the air cond on its 1500 then if it idels for a while it might drop to 1200 or on odd occasions is idels normaly. i have no idea wht it is. some sensor somewhere i'm sure. btw its a new second hand motor broke a conrod in old one so had to take it out n put another in. i was thinking one of thoes sensors on the throttle body? but i'm not sre what they do. the problem seems 2 follow the throttle body tho 'm not sure.

The IAC (idle air control) valve controls the idle and it may need a good clean or you may need a new one. It's on top of the throttle body.

sounds like it could be a tps (throttle position sensor)

i was thinking either of them lol iac or tps among other things, i'v come to the conclusion cars have to many sensors! back in the day it was just oil and water. its also really bad on fuel it did 7.5k per liter (13.33L/100km) on a country trip! 100 whole way. i was expecting better my vn does about 8 around town and 10 on a tank that was half country. (12 and 10L/100km)
