Default what tyres are the best for my VT

I have a VT that is soon going to need new tyres, I have never brought tyres before and dont know much about them. Just wondering which are the best tyres to get and how much am i looking at? I usually just do suburb driving. The tyre size i have on is 225/50/R16

thank

If you have the original rims still fitted, fit the same size that is on the tyre placard on the drivers door. I still stick to the original Bridgestone RE92's. ...Cheap, quiet, SMOOTH ride, long life, (40,000 K's on the current set and plenty of tread depth left)

215-225 is a good size for the VT's.. I used to run 195 on my old VP, Then went to 225 and even the dreaded wet weather didn't get the bum out.

I like the ER30's There around $150+ per tyre so there not real cheap but they are very well rounded.

I have pirelli p6 on my VT and when I'm just cruising it never gets unsettled even in a MASSSIVE storm we had last year. naturally though, takeoff in the wet gets a bit of spin, but only on slimy roads really
