VX SS V8 diff noise

My SS VX has a diff noise at around 50-60km/h and drives me crazy. It is not LOUD but I know it is there and I listen for it. I guess you young guys would say just up the radio.
What would a recond. diff cost me, would you trust a second hand V8 diff?
How long would it take a good garage to replace the diff?

What sort of noise is it? Clunking? grinding?

When did you last replace the diff fluid/additive?

It is just a bearing whine, I had the oil changed and the GHM additive added about two months ago. It was a little quieter for a while and now back again.
