Default Fuel Gauge Problem

Was wondering if someone could give me some advice on an issue i have with a VU that i just bought. I noticed that when i filled up my tank the fuel gauge went to full as it should, but i have now done around 120k's on this tank and the dial hasn't budged and the computer continues to say i have 670km's till empty. Its a VU V6 S pack and although i dream of having a never ending tank of fuel, i doubt this is the case. Just wondering what you think of the issue and any advice would be very much appreciated.

Cheers,
Brock

have you been driving highway kilometres? If so then you wouldnt see the gauge move if your sitting at 90-110km/h, but if you have been doing city kms and stopping and starting then you either have a magical ute or your gauge may be stuck...

my old vn used to do it all the time.... a firm palm to the top of the dash would fix that...

This is a common problem. i had the exact problem. petral gauge will not budge and the km's to end was saying differently. there is a post on this how to fix it. with the sensors or something. i have been with my car for 1 year now and i know exactly how the gauge works. if it reaches 140km's left it means i have about 4 litres or so left in the tank. i know that with my car its 10.5-11 litres per 100kms city. so i should fill up when i have done about 550 - 600kms per tank. which equals about 80-90$ per tank at the prices these days.

Thanks for the reply guys. Luckily i reset the trip computer when i filled up the tank this time so i think i will top up at about 500k's just to be safe. Alteast until i find out the exact problem. Hope its not too expensive. I have been reading that it can be upto $400 which im not going to be too happy about.
