VX SS starts but dies

My bro has a vx ss manual, was running fine until yesterday. It will start normally, but as soon as it tries to settle to a steady idle it dies, he cant even keep it running by revving it.

any ideas on what it could be?

I'd be checking the wiring connections to the coils or alternator for starters.

clean and bend out the strip on the key barrel, but i would think the imobiliser would work itself out quicker though

I had the BCM die in my V6 and the car couldn't start at all as the immobilisers couldn't be disengaged. The fact that this car actually starts and runs would suggest to me that this is not the problem. I still recommend my first post as a starting point and following that, the usual things such as plugs, leads, fuel pump relays, fuel filter/line blockages etc.

If it were spark it wouldn't start at all.

sound's like a relay
there are two fuel pump rely's one for start (6 second's)
one for running (used in conjuction with oil sender)
