Post VT abs fitting replacement

I have what seems a typical issue with the VT abs unit intermittent failure which brings up various warning lights and tunes on occasion. as I am not a fan of this happening on a regular basis I was wondering if anyone has had any luck with the recon/swap abs units on ebay - are they easy to fit? if so how? do they work?

cheers

I believe they are easy to fit. Quite often a good clean of the electrical connector with some electrical contact cleaner will fix them.
As far as the units on ebay go It's hard to say, all you can do is research the seeler's feed back and if they sell them on a regular basis see if the buyers are happy.

Thanks for that, I have taken the dive and bought one off ebay, will fit it this week and let you know how it goes - it was easy to take out anyway.

cheers

Happy to report the replacement abs unit arrived within the week so I assume he works on an exchange basis and has probably repaired mine and onsold it already Anyway good luck to him - I have had no problem since installing myself and am happy to be rid of the lights and tunes for less than $200 on a job I was quoted minimum of $600. I did ask him what he did to it but his reply was a vague comment on a reworking of the circuitry inside the thing. Anyway - I would be happy to give more details to anyone interested in doing the same, by the volume of sales - it seems to be coming a more common occurrence.

Default Warranty

Twelve months guarantee on an exchange basis I think - it is written in the ebay ads. Lets hope I don't have to test it
