hi, the hubs on my vt are rusty and look crapola, iv bought some rust remover, primer etc but im not sure how to remove the hub?
this is going to be a no brainer for someone but im still learning so any help would be good. Im starting on the left rear and this is what im looking at;
it looks like im going to have to remove the caliper? do i have to crack the bearing to get the hub off? also how easy is it to reposition the caliper after i remove it? any help will be great, thanks

getting the bearing off is that just done with a hammer and screwdriver or will that stuff it? will i need to replace anypart of the bearing once i remove it?

i cannot for the life of me crack the 2 bolts holding the capliers on!!!!! is it just the two 19mm bolts of the back of the caliper, any ideas how to get them undone?

well the other bloke said that you dont need to take them off but from what i remember you did grab a screw driver and a hammer and go anticlockwise to undo it
Make sure your handbrake is off .If that doesn't work you might have to back off the brake shoes
there are three types of people in the world , those who can count and those who can't
I'm confused, do you want to paint the rotors or the hub assembly?
MY RIDE
I thought I was wrong once but I was mistaken.
the rotor/hub not the actual rotor blade but the surrounds
i just finished the primer and painted it then;

Whilst i can't help with how to get the rotor off, its great to see your setting an example and using Axle Stands.
Too many times i see people doing work on their car with just a jack under there (sometimes even just a scissor jack)
Top effort!

Hey Nicko, don't forget to use a little 'loctite' on those caliper mounting bolts when you re-fit them!!...don't want them working loose.
