Default Things to do while motor is out

ive got myself a 2002 vx motor im going to drop into a 4runner , is there anything on the motor i should change while it is out of the car,

i am going to do the rear main seal as i heard they leak a bit

also the welch / welsh plugs ,

is there anything else i should be look at doing,

also can you run the supercharged heads on a standard ecotec engine, not so much for preformance, just wondering if its possible or would other things have to be changed

    thanks

The supercharged heads are identical to the N/A heads except fro the pre existing injector ports. So yes they can be used.

    Replace:

Gaskets (head, water pump, rocker covers, sump etc)
    Spark Plugs and leads
    Oil/air/fuel filters

Check the water pump too, they are prone to failing

If its a V8 and u want it to be reliable for a while, id be stripping it right down. VT V8's are well known for rear oil seals and piston slack.
