still abit confused about my car ideling high. this is a photo of my tacho when its ideling at its lowest.

i took the inlet manifold off acouple months ago but it was doing it befor then. i have checked the pipes for vacume leaks, there is none they look brand new i even unpluged them and sealed up the holes on the trottle body still idels the same. it quite often idels at 1400rpm :S any ideas anyone?

Thats not really any higher than where mine sits. Between 800-850.

yours is a v6 tho
my old mans ssz (yes i know its a VZ not a VX same engine tho) idles at around 650 rpm when its warm
900 ish when its cold.
i would check that the manifold you removed its sealed correctly

Around 650 rpm is correct. Sounds like a leak somewhere. Did you re-use old gaskets? You could try cleaning the IAC valve.

IAC and TPS would be first things to look at....

Make sure the IAC is working properly and is clean and same goes for the TPS...

Not sure HOW you would check they are working properly though... lol

cleaned throttle body sparkling brand new iac, yeah i reused the old gaskets but i'm sure it did it befor i took it off.

just checked every vacume operated thing, no leaks. i took them off put my finger on the end and sucked and go nowhere :S then i had to wash my mouth for about 10 min heh. put up the digital tacho and it idels at 800rpm. might have to take the manifold off and check :S again i'v taken it off about 3 times maade it fit perfectly and clean, also it idel high befor i took it off.........

what about a retune i am pretty sure it hasnt been tuned but is there any way to tell??
