    Default AC Operating temp

I have installed a S/H compressor, New TX Valve, New Drier/Receiver, replaced all the o-rings and seals on those items and lastly had it re-gassed with R134a. The day i had it re-gassed was a 39 degrees day, i drove home but noticed that although the AC was cool it didn't seem to be getting cold. I whacked a digital thermometer in the middle air vent on the dash and after a 45min drive it only got as low as 12 degrees. I understand it was an extremely hot day but if my memory serves me correctly i believe that under these similar conditions prior to the AC sh!tting itself it got much colder, so much so i would have to turn it off or down!

I have been reading some previous posts about the R134a and the general consensus is that it doesn't work to well in extreme heat? Previously i had a cheaper gas, probably HyChill by the sounds of it.

So i guess given the conditions do you think 12 degrees is a fair output for the R134a gas?

I guess i'm just trying to determine if i have an underlying problem elsewhere.

    Cheers, Daz.

Aaah don't be a bunch of women, you don't need freezing cold aircon ^^ I drove from Melbourne to Brisbane 22hrs straight on a 45+ degree day without aircon (and nearly died! lol)

You appear to have a slight issue though, if you want it perfect. When was the last time you took your front bar and radiator out, and gurney'd the condensor from behind, to flush the crap out? I found quite an improvement in my a/c system when I flushed the dirt and wildlife out from my condensor fins

Also check what condition your hose insulation is in. The stuff that keeps the gas cool on the way to the accumulator

Also was the system vacced down and tested properly? ( hooked up to a vacuum pump, and held in negative pressure for period of time with vac unit turned off? )
Did the guy that filled it for you charge it to a certain pressure or was it by weight/volume?
Was he a mate doing you a favour or an actual buisness?

    What car do you have?
Were you running the air on recirc?
What fan speed was the 12C achieved with?
Was the car stationary or on the move?
When the system was charged, what were the high and low pressure readings(important since youve installed a different compressor)?
Does the temperature out the vents improve when the conditions get cooler?
Does hosing the condensor down in high temps drop the vent temps.
Have you checked that the heater tap valve is working properly, ie the heater hoses south of the tap should be cool to the touch.
