Hi all,
I seem to have ran into a problem when i decided to upgrade my speakers in my VT (6" in all for doors)... I upgraded the front speakers and they worked fine and then installed the back ones and all of a sudden there is no sound coming through any of the speakers except a slight "pop" sound when i first turn the head unit on. The sub is still working as i can hear it thumping away(just no sound through ALL the speakers!) I have rechecked all the wires to make sure that they are not earthing out and all seems to be fine. I also checked the fuse in the back of the head unit and put it in a mates car which worked fine so as far as i can tell its not the head unit. the only other thing i can really think of is maybe the wiring harness is somehow stuffed?? I have also tried connecting a speaker that i know works straight from the back of the head unit, just in case for some strange reason it blow all my speakers but it still did not work!
ANY HELP would be much appreciated
Thanks
hmmmmm at a guess, I'd say you have reversed the polarity adn the whole thing has cut out to save itself. try unplugging the rear speakers again. if fronts work, try running wires out in the open to the rears (ie have the H/U sitting on something and wire running over the seat, just to check)

Yeah i have a feeling that that does not matter to much as when i hooked up the first speaker i accidentally hooked it up the wrong way and it still worked fine but i did fix that up! I am thinking i might have to cut all the speaker wires coming out of the h/u and hook the speakers up one by one and see if anything happens. If i do that will the h/u still work (output sound) even though one speaker is being hooked up at a time?? or does all the speakers have to be hooked up before it outputs the audio?
Would you say that this the best way about going about this? I just dont want to blow my brand new speakers!!
yes it'll work with just one speaker connected, but personally I wouldn't run the h/u until all speakers were connected. just take your time and remember polarity. easiest way is to use wire with a different colour trace.
if all speakers died at the same time I'd be looking at the h/u fuse, otherwise the unit itself
