This may seem like a pretty stupid question as everyone would say it depends on the extent of hail damage and to what part of the car has been affected and to what degree so im not looking for those kind of answers
I saw a VT S Pack Sedan in black with 'slight' hail damage according to the seller (dealer) on the top of the roof, boot and bonnet
1998 Holden Commodore VT S Black 4 Speed A Sedan - eBay, Passenger Vehicles, Cars, Cars, Bikes, Boats. (end time 12-Apr-08 11:15:02 AEST)
Any idea of how much it would cost to repair any visible damage on the car?
Any other problems anyone can see?
The damage doesn't look like theres a great deal of it. I could really only spot one major dent. But the photos weren't the best.
First thing I'd do is look at where the damage is, and how many hail stone dents there are. Chances are they'd be fairly spread out over the whole vehicle. So to repair you'd need the dents removed and most likely a respray. So you're looking at least a couple grand for a proper repair.
Personally I wouldn't bother. I'd take the money I'd allocated for repair, and go buy one thats already in a good conditon.

Tomorrow doesn't look good either.
God must love stupid people, He made so many.
buy it, insure it, wait for a hail storm report somewhere and then make a claimbut if your not into the whole fraud thing then just buy a non damaged one
no longer a hoon by association - the commodore is gone
Sold...oh well
the search continues...
so a couple of grand?
hmmm ok, thanks
Nothing wrong with getting a hail damaged car....
Really good if your on a tight budget, and want a reliable car and dont mind a few dints...
However i believe its super hard to get a hail damaged car insured... I could be wrong.
Yeah most insurance companies WONT insure a car thats had hail damage. They will ask you that question when insuring, yes you can lie to them, but if the person who owned before you put a claim in when it was originally damaged then your gonna be up **** creek without a paddle, you have the choice to buy or not to buy, its pretty simple DO NOT buy a hail damaged car, spend a little more and get a mint one.
there are three types of people in the world , those who can count and those who can't
well i have a mate in the business and have had many dints taken out of my car and hes never used anything like a suction cup. just special shaped tools to get in behind the door panels and push them out. maybe theres another way aswell but he has never done it on my car.
