    Lightbulb Water staining on windscreen

Hey guy whilst out cleaning the car on the weekend i noticed there were lots of dried water drops on the windscreen, particularly bad outside the wipers path, no amount of washing or chamoising gets rid can anyone make suggestions of how to get rid of them?

ah ok then, i just bought a can of car wash/wax/polish in a can and i use it on my windows and i never get those water marks and it stops it from fogging etc. maybe try using some degreaser? kero or shellite which is nail polish remover.

1st option is a 50/50 mix of white vinegar and water, failing that, polish them out. Just use ordinary duco polish. Some people then wax the windows so the water marks don't reappear. It won't smear when it's raining, but after a few drives in the rain, it will need to be re waxed as the wipers will wash the wax off.

cheers ill give it a go, talking of waxing the windows, if i manage to get these marks off, would 'rain-x' have the same affect as waxing?

Don't know, maybe, I think it is a wax based product.

mr sheen must be reapplied after rain (been there, done that) it's really easy to wash off. use rain-x on glass and wax on paint

It isn't a reasonably new windshield is it? We recently got a new screen, and I have noticed that it seems to "hold" water marks much worse than the other glass on the car. Even the chamois seems to "drag" on the screen when drying it. Windex doesn't seem to do much. I've tried polish, and it seems to help a bit, but it's a real puzzle. It too has a lot of water marks outside the wiper sweep which are hard to remove.

It's a bit funny, as you would think "glass is glass".

You would think so, as i understand it glass is porous to a certain extent, with microscopic pits in the glass something like rain-x which is a solvent based liquid just sort of covers up. Perhaps the new windscreen hasnt been made to the high quality one would normally come to expect...maybe another Chinese knock-off!
