Default VT Acclaim 1998 - something nice.

Just like to say that my VT is running absolutely mint... no problems whatsoever in the 2 years of our bio-kinda-mechnical partnership - bordering on intimate - Holdens are your freind, so be kind...

I guess i thought that the good old positive 'My car runs mint - Woohoo' routine was needed on the forum.... by the amount of 'My cars F**ked' threads, you'd think i was reading the 'Why the f**k did i buy a Ford' thread - no there isn't one, but just imagine for a minute that there is and my point is made...

Iv'e made up my mind that there has to be a point to this thread, so what i'll do is list... in completely random order... the points of my VT that i feel work too well:

Air Con - very cold on Cold, very hot on Hot - which leads to too Cold, too Hot.. windows up, windows down - decisions for the driver - or me in this case.. to much thinking - but probably in all honesty should - note to self: Make more of an effort in the temp department.

Well just one then, still in random order though. HA!

Anyways, go the VT... hell, go all Holdens - specially any HT Manaro's out there mmmmmm.

How many KMS u got on it ??
Not much at all, just ticked over the 210k mark - running absolutley beauty! In fact just towed my 17ft fibreglass boat about 600km (Auckland to Taupo and back) with no issues whatsoever! Boat f**ked out though... sorted now!

now you have said this your car will prob start playing up now
You have owned several Fords haven't you? No, i have a lot of faith my commy...

The only commy i ever had trouble with was my old VL commy - thru a rod thru the side of the block - and that was a NISSAN motor!! ha ha!

I choose to own commy's coz i don't have problems with them - see, ain't it just lovely to here something positive - gives the warm fuzzies

my transmission needs a service... and an aircon vacuum pipe is leaking as well as the need of a regas. Other than that everything else is working fine (ignoring the intermittant remote locking... central working works everytime, just not always when I push the button.)

Yeah, my VT works great too! Fuel economy is almost as good as when it was new. The engine doesn't miss a beat. The wheel bearings have been replaced and all the front end vibration has gone. The new brake rotors and pads have worn in fine (slight squeel from the cheap compound every now and then but that's unavoidable since the outlaw of asbestos pads). The "keep me fit" windows wind up and down easy enough, all the door handles and locks work. None of the switches have failed. I could go on....

The only thing that I don't like about my VT is how many scratches, dents and chips are in the body thanks to stupid drivers, runaway trolleys and down-right inconsiderate people. Not one imperfection in the paintwork or body of my vehicle has been caused by me. NOT ONE!!! People are so disrespectful. Oh, and it has now done over 215,000 kms.
I haven't lost my mind, it's backed up on tape somewhere

hi, u might have no problems yet with the running of the car but i bet u have things like a dropped door or dents in the quarter panel(dont try to remove u will only make the problem worst), also i bet ur passenger door leaks or a moth in the rear stop light or ur dash is falling apart, maybe ur bumper has fallen off
