    Default boot opening issue

Recently i have not been able to open my boot when i press the button on the key and in the glove box. I can hear something inside the car when i press the button but it doesn't open. I am thinking that the boot actuator is broken but just want peoples opinions, and if they know which fuse the boot actuator passes through. Thanks in advance.

does it open when you use the key?

If it opens with the key try these two things:-

    1) Get someone to put lifting pressure on bootlid as you press the button & see if it opens up. If so....go to 2)

2)With the boot open you will see a black rubber adjuster on each side of the underside of the boot lid. These are designed to stop the boot rattling about. They are threaded like a screw & if you adjust them out a little bit further they will place enough pressure on the bootlid to lift the lock mechanism up enough so you can open the boot.

If these are not adjusted correctly the boot release will open and close again but the boot will stay closed because it hasn't lifted the lock out of it's closed position.

You may have to try adjusting them few times till you get the right blend of pressure on the lid, but when they are right the boot will open every time you press the button.

the noise that it makes isn't from the boot, it sounds like it comes from the receiver for the key but it doesn't make a noise at the boot when the button is pressed, this is why i believe that the actuator may be broken, thanks for the help guys might just go to the wrecker and buy a second hand one.

How did you get on with your problem? Was it the BCM at fault by any chance?

the actuator by the boot garnish was jammed, so i riggled it a bit, adjusted the rod in the boot then shut it. then i tried to open the boot and it tried to pop but didn't so i adjusted the latch using a socket drive and pushed the lil loop thing down 4mm and she works fine now.
