Default how to remove rear air duct end

VT Acclaim wagon S2 bought last week and need to sort a few problems. The most annoying at the moment is a broken closer on the little flap that covers a small storage space (ashtray) between the front seats, the one that is obviously for the rear seat passengers, it hangs open, also one air/heater vent above this thing is broken, both have been kicked I reckon by back seat passengers. I removed the console bin lid and the 2 screws that face back just behind the lid hinge. I removed the 2 screws low down near the rear inside track of the front seats. Cannot see any other screws but the thing is obviously still attached somehow.

Also my heater controls at night look like they might have a globe out, the right hand dial seems to be lit only a little by the light from the middle dial, is this how they were made or do I have a light blown?

anybody help?

thanks

To gain access to the rear vents you will need to remove the entire centre console.

Start by removing the gear lever surround (held in with clips and 2 screws either side of the cigerete lighter)
You will also need to remove the centre console kick panels (3 screws, one at the base of the hand brake and 2 under the fuse panel cover. This will be the same for the other side and will require removal of the glovebox)
You will find 2 screws under the gear leaver surround that holds the console in position and also another 2 on the sides under the kick panel.
Lastley, open the console lid and remove the rubber insert (force required) and undo the 2 13mm nuts.
You should be able to remove the entire console

The A/C controls have tiny light bulbs that can blow. there should be a how to on replacing these in the How To section
