Removing Door Strips

What is the best way to remove the strips off the doors on the base model commodores?

By taking them off will it remove paint?

The strips are held on by double sided tape so removal is easy. get either dental floss or fishing line and put it between the door and the strip and do a sawing motion till it comes off. Remove any left over tape or residue with Wax and Grease remover and then rinse with water.

Removing the strips will not remove paint as long as you dont pull the strip off by force (and even that generally won't affect the paint)

if you mean the stripe on the outside... you can just pull them off. Park your car in the sun and then pull it off gently, wash off all the crap it leaves behind

Took a few layers of skin off my fingers trying to do this.

Then I went to Holden and they said to buy a 'Caramel Wheel' to take off all the sticky crap. Whack it in your drill and start rubbing back, its like a rubber circle that rubs back all the tape and silicone ect.

$17 and my car looks great

I got quoted $306 for all 6 vx acclaim door moulds from Holden.
