Hey guys, i have a vt executive, and when i put the brakes on it sounds like a aeroplane, sorta a airry sound, hard to explain but if anyone knows what im talking about please give advice.
ahh high pitch grinding noise? like squeeky ? its normal. Might have stuffed brake pads or rotors, or the compound on the brakes is making the noise which is normal.
I have fairly newish brakes and rotors and still make squeeky noise, u can hear the brakes before u even see my car coming haha.
Nah its not squeeky, it's like a airry noise and my brake petal isnt very firm, mite have something to do with it? i got no clue lol
your outta brake's ,digging channel's in the rotor's.
replace pad's asap.
Research has shown that men usually sleep on the right side of the bed.
Even in our sleep we happen to be right.

your caliper might be seized as well check that the sliders arnt stuck take em out clen em and re grease them if they are stuck
Do the brakes feel like they are still working properly?
Hey this is a little off topic but does any one know how to tell if my 97 VT executive has ABS. I have to change the FL wheel hub and need to know if my car is fitted with ABS.
Look in you engine bay on the drivers side, near the brake master cylinder, if there is a squarish thing with about 6 thin metal pipes coming out of it, then you have ABS.

I thought I was wrong once but I was mistaken.
The EASIEST way to tell if you have ABS, which my 98 VT executive doesn't, is to open the Fues box in the engine box. Under the lid is a diagram of each fuse/relay. There should be a big fuse/relay labeled ABS on the picture, if it's missing from the bay then you don't have ABS. If it's there then you can test it works by going 60kms/h and then slamming on the brakes and try to lock it up. It should give you a pumping shudder.
An aircraft noise coming from brakes does usually mean it's metal on metal. Sounds like an aircraft cooling down/braking when landing?![]()
I haven't lost my mind, it's backed up on tape somewhere
