    Default vt dash facia removal

I have followed the instructions in the how to section and found everything worked fine until I unclipped the clip between the air vents, then nothing else would give, it looks and feels like the radio front is moving with the facia as I pull on it, did not want to try too hard.
My radio is a eurovox radio cassette so I am assuming its factory fitted, same colour as the dash.
I need to replace globes behind the heater controls.
Does my radio have to come out first?
    Can I do this myself?
I noticed four small holes, two each side on the radio facia, I assume these are the access points for some removal tool.

I'm pretty sure the radio doesn't need to come out.

Sorry about that. I had different radio in mine and I could remove the facia with the radio in.

just finished, did have to take the radio out like madvx6 says, the little lip all round the radio facia stops the dash facia from coming out, trouble is I made the tool like I found in some thread to do with radio removal and pushed one side in too far bending the whole retaining clip thing away from the body of the radio, took ages to fix and remove after getting it out far enough to unscrew the facia (of the radio) and then shoving a screwdriver in through a handily placed little rectangular slot. In the process I broke off the earth line from the radio circuit board to the case of the radio, it was too short, but easy to solder back on a new longer one. Strangely the radio kept working but I could not change the stations or band. Still did not find the lights to ther heater controls, will have to do it all again when I have more time, but having done it once it should be easier to get it all off next time.

WH Fascia 3 peace's instead of 2, I'm going that way soon.

With the CD player all you need is coat hanger cut 4 bits off and shove that into the holes, About 6 inch long and pull it out easy.
Thats unless you have the tool for it.

I had a VT before the Caprice and I had a Sony double din in that and it allowed me to remove the fascia without removing the stereo. But thinking back, I now remember the lip which stops you from removing the fascia with Eurovox installed.
Are you getting a Statesman or Caprice? People say they handle like a barge but to me, mine handles every bit as good as my VT did. You will love it.

its easy to tell, after releasing the clip at the two central high air vents the facia will come away easily unless its still held by the head unit

They look much more tidy sitting behind the WH Fascia then the VT fascia factory CD units..

I got a VT but i am converting the Fascia to the WH Statesman International, Looks much better then the VT ones.

I think they would handle nice and with some good comfort.

They often come up on ebay, sometimes at reasonable prices.
