the cars horn doesnt sound when i lock the car; what's wrong??

Mine doesn't sound when locking the car, occasionally I get a slight beep (very faint) when unlocking. I don't know if this is normal but I am assuming it is.

the only time it will beep on locking is if one off your doors are a bit open or one off your door lock solenoids are sticking mine does it somtimes.horn for the alarm next to firewall pasenger side

it doesnt beep when arming or disarming only if your door is opened or bonnet

What it means by 'triggered' is when someone attempts to break in, or the alarm sounds not by remote unless door is open when locking.

Also to note, I am sure this is only on the series 2 models.
My series 1 executive does not have this
The alarm would only sound if the car was unlocked by key and the door opened

I got the series 2 exec, if i leave one of the doors open the horn sounds once while locking it.

Wind a window down, lock the car with remote and then pop a lock, and see what happens...... Alarm should go off.

Ours goes off but its just indicators blinking no sound which seems stupid.

Havn't checked if there is a horn as stated above.

It was an ex council fleet car so maybe it got disabled somehow (anyone know if it can be turned back on)

The horn may not be connected. It should be mounted on the rear off the passenger side strut tower.

My vxII s beeps twice when unlocked and once for locked, my windows also go up automatically but the alarm usually goes off when the 2nd window starts going up :S Got me puzzled..kinda frustrating really..any suggestions??

stock horn alarms are shit cause it would take seconds to pop bonnet open and disconnect 1 wire that goes to strut tower its in an easy location i think!

glad to see you guys got the shovel out. Incase the OP is still having a problem, i had the same issue on my VXII Acclaim. Alarm would go off, but only blinkers, nothing audible. Best thing to do is remove the horn from behind the passanger side firewall and hook it up to a battery. It most likely wont work. I got a replacement one from holden for ~$20 and that fixed my issue.

i heard my horn go off for the first time since ive had the car in 2 years the other day! i was worried it was stuffed, i had locked the car but had the boot open for a few mins and it went off! so im happy it works lol
