Default WH Statesman with 5.7l is a slug

Hi guys,I have a WH Statesman with a 5.7ltr in it and 4 speed auto. This this is an absolute dog of the line. Its not bad one you get it over 3000rpm but any thing under that and it gutless.
Fuel wise it averages 13 to 14ltrs per 100ks with mixed driving,town/country miles.
So far car is stock other than getting rid of the rear muffler, and it has a new gto auto.
Whats the best bang for buck mods that wont kill the economy.
    Cheers JD

You might have a problem that is holding it back, because mine picks up fine and it is stock.

Diff gears will give the car better acceleration.

The sludgomatic will be holding it back abit too, so look into getting a stage 2 shiftkit or similar.

Also a full twin system exhaust will have it breathing better, and give probably the most power for a simple mod.

After that, your probably looking into Edit/cam territory, which starts to get expensive.
