    Unhappy No Spark VT V6

Hey all, I appreciate the time you all put into solving issues for people, its very generous of your time. I hope too that someone maybe able to help.
A brought a vt from the damaged auctions as a repo and it didnt come with a key. I had a locksmith provide and program a new key for the car. Once done I tried to crank it over with no joy. After pulling a plug and seeing how wet it was I concluded no spark. It's not the BCM (as immobiliser light switches off) and there is no fault code coming up its just repeating 12 which is no fault i beleive. unfortunately I have never had it running so not sure. i found a fuel pump in the car when i brought it however the fuel pump is working and so is the pressure switch. Any ideas? Maybe crank angle sensor?

had a similar problem aswell.got a vt from flood damaged auctions.no key.had a key made but didnt work.turned out the key maker had programed the key wrong.he had put in the wrong VIN No.
so when you put the key in and try to start does anything light up? if so perhaps the key is wrong

okay will start on the relays, i have a couple I can grab out of my ute that i know work.
thanks for the advice. Will certainly be seeing about a free key if I have no joy. the key set me back $330 and he was the cheapest in Darwin. Not enough competition up here sometimes.

That's one expensive key. Did you get it from Holden or some other thief?

it was from a mobile locksmith. by the time i towed it into holden and back to finish building it i would have been up for the same. Relays seem fine i can feel the flick from one when you turn the key to crank it, then again when i release the key. will be ringing the locksmith in the morning.....

hey guys, well i rang the locksmith and he said the bcm has accepted the program because it cranks and the central locking works, it must be a deeper issue. to gain a second opinion i rang another locksmith and he fortunately has a vr. he stated that there could be a couple of issues. 1. the contact points at the key to the ignition maybe dirty clean them and try. 2. there is only a certain number of times you can reprogram a BCM and when they do a program the get a strength reading of the BCM and it weakens as further programing progresses. he added however there is an overide to the system by leaving the key in the on position for 2hours it will over ride the BCM and disable the immobisor and the car will start once and once only. so here goes in the morning.

if it turns over its not a key problem
start looking at the CAS & DFI wiring for damage from the crash?
check it for codes, this should help if its an electrical issue

Hey gents, well i visited a mate who owns a wrecking yard in town for some bits I needed and he just happened to have a coil pack and DFI unit sitting on the shelf. he lent it to me to try, so I unbolted mine and then realised the other unit was different, so I bolted mine back up and thought i would give it one more crank regardless and bang she fired and went! yay! maybe the connection was loose originally, the bolt on the connection did come out easily. Thanks for all your suggestions and time, funny it never showed up as a fault code, but I guess if we solved one issue for the forum its this, if a key is reprogrammed, we know its right if it cranks and the central locking works.
