I've been searching for a maloo kit to put on my VU and found one on ebay for under 700 bucks including front bumper, rear bumper and skirts. What i want to know is what is the real advantage of buying genuine parts over aftermarket products. I'm pretty strapped for cash and that's the reason for me going for the cheaper goods.
Cheers

One of the benefits on buying genuine is that the parts will fit properly. Some aftermarket kits need a bit of work to get them to fit. Also the quality can suffer with some non genuine parts.
MY RIDE
I thought I was wrong once but I was mistaken.
I bought one of an a company called street commodore on ebay. It was meant to be a vy clubby for my vt.
6oo for the kit and a couple hundred in postage. When i got it here, went to get it trial fitted. The kit was warped, skirts were to short, cracked in all corners. It was crap. Luckily he gave me a full refund but i lost out on postage.
But ive heard people buying the same it and have no problems. Mayb i was a unlucky one??
So i bought a 2nd hand genuine vx ss kit with foggies for 200. Best ebay purchase ive ever made.
I bought a 2nd hand fiberglass kit for my car and for the price i got it for it wasnt too bad.
The Front and sides skirts fitted pretty good but the rear was kinda dodgy.
The gap between the tail lights and the kit was pretty big and didn't mount properly.
If you did mount it properly then the boot wouldn't close
And remember this was a second hand kit that would of been prepped already
